<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>What concepts are required?</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">- need at least 2 players</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">- the 2 players are battling each other to become the ultimate planeswalker</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">- need to imagine that you are a Wizard/Sorcerer with 20 life</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">- your spells/magic are contained within your "DECK" (consists of 60 cards)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">- example spells include: creating bears, monsters, rats etc...</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>What do I need those bears, rats, monsters for?</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">- you'll be needing those monsters to defeat your enemy</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>How do I defeat my enemy in Magic The Gathering?</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">- you defeat your enemy by reducing their life to 0(zero or negative).</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">- for example: you created (using spells) a rat (with 3 damage) and you attacked with your rats to damage your enemy to 17 life.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b><br /></b></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>Is it that easy to create/cast spells (monsters)?</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">- In order to create/cast spells(monsters), you have to have "MANA" </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">- a "MANA" is like money that you have to pay when you buy something.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">- but generally, a "MANA" is a magical energy that comes from the environment.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">- your enemy can also create rats, monsters, etc... on their turn.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>So how to I get that "MANA" to create/cast my rat monsters?</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">- you can get that by playing a "LAND" card. (you play land cards by putting cards into play from hand)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">- just like a game of poker, you have an intial (7 cards) in hand and you play them from time to time to defeat your enemy.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">- so remember this, Magic The Gathering is like "POKER" with a twist.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">- so you have to draw and draw from your "DECK" to get those magic spells.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">But there's more to Magic The Gathering than what's given in this tutorial; you can even create "LIGHTNING BOLTS" that can destroy your enemy monsters dead or damage your enemy.. and many more! Casting Artifacts, Enchantments, etc... and even control enemy monsters.</span><br />

Deck zone - place your (50 card) deck here.<br />b. Drop zone - destroyed monsters or used spells are placed here face up.<br />c. Gauge zone - gauge are placed here to pay for cost when using some cards.<br />d. Monster space - Upto 3 monsters can be placed in this area named Left, Center and Right.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><br />Here are the types of cards you can draw from your deck:<br />a. Monster cards <br />-> Monster cards have the following important information:<br /> * monster cost - SIZE of the monster when called to play<br /> * defense - the monster can receive this amount of attack before being destroyed<br /> * critical - the amount of damage dealt to the fighter when there's no monster in enemy's center<br /> * offense - the attack damage dealt to enemy's defense<br /> * ability - requirements to play the monster its powers</span><br />
<br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">(fr: http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net)</span></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><br />c. Spell cards<br />-> Spell cards have the following importan information:<br /> * spell effect - requirements to play the spell card its powers</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><a href="http://livedoor.blogimg.jp/freedomduo/imgs/6/4/645569b5.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://livedoor.blogimg.jp/freedomduo/imgs/6/4/645569b5.png" height="320" width="230" /></a></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">(fr: http://livedoor.blogimg.jp)</span></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><br />d. Impact cards<br />-> Impact cards have the following importan information:<br /> * impact effect - requirements to play the impact card its powers<br /><br />In Buddyfight, you call monsters to the 3 areas in the game area to attack enemy monster and eventually enemy fighter. Both you and the enemy fighter starts at 10 life. A fighter loses if he is reduced to 0 life or has no cards left in deck.<br /><br />There are 4 phases in a turn:<br />1. Start Phase<br /> - Turn all cards to vertical position<br /> - Draw a card (you cannot draw during the very first turn)<br /> - If you choose to charge, put 1 card from your hand face down into the gauge zone, then draw 1 card.<br />2. Main phase<br /> - Call a monster to any monster area<br /> - Use an [Act] ability<br /> - Equip an item card<br /> - Use spell cards<br />3. Attack phase<br /> - Choose a monster and attack<br />4. Final phase<br /> - You can use an impact card at this phase.<br /><br />To start the game, draw 6 cards and put 2 cards face down to gauge zone.<br />(You can choose charge the gauge when you are the first player)<br /><br />Now, proceed to the main phase. You can now call monsters and attack.<br />(You can only attack once during the very first turn).<br /><br />When calling monsters, choose where to place the monster; Left, Center or Right.<br />** Rules when calling monsters:<br />1. When a monster is already existing the the area, replace the monster by putting it to the drop zone.<br />2. When you are about to call a monster that is the same name as your BUDDY monster, you can perform BUDDY CALL.<br />--> BUDDY CALL - place the monster you are about to call to the buddy area in REST(horizontal) position and put your buddy monster to a monster area. You also gain 1 life(+1)! (called BUDDY GIFT). BUDDY CALL can only be performed once per game.<br />3. The total SIZE of all the monsters in Left, Center and Right areas must be 3. <br /><br />You can also equip an item during main phase. To equip, put the item on top of your flag in the flag zone.<br />(only 1 item can be equipped).<br /><br />With your arsenal complete, you can now attack.<br /><br />** Rules when attacking:<br />1. Put your monster to REST(horizontal position) and choose a monster to attack.<br />2. You could also choose to attack with your item, IF there is no monster in your Center area.<br />3. If there's no monster in your enemy's center area, you can choose to attack the fighter instead.<br />4. If you want higher attack, you can perform a LINK ATTACK.<br />--> LINK ATTACK - is where you combine the attack(offense) of two or more monsters(or item) by attacking them at the same time.(putting them to REST)<br /><br />Now for the battle outcome:<br />a. If the attacking monsters offense is greater than or equal to the monsters defense, the defending monster is destroyed. Otherwise, nothing happens.<br /><br />b. When the fighter is attacked, deal damage to enemy fighter equal to the critical of the monster.<br /><br />It's now your final phase and you can now use impact cards.</span>dombrihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14219206591476722991noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7060375010687772911.post-88787229201395038942016-03-31T01:40:00.000-07:002016-03-31T01:40:03.386-07:00Ubisoft Philippines<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">“Ubisoft Philippines will be recruiting 50 new team members this year, from artists to programmers, designers to project managers,” Chip Go, the new studio manager of Ubisoft Philippines, said.</span><br />

Like so many card games played online, Hearthstone let's lets us play our favorite characters using a form of card battle. In Hearthstone, a player battles another player using heroes found in Blizzard's World of Warcraft. When you deplete your opponents life to 0 (usually starts at 30 life points) you win the card battle. This is done by casting minions (and many other kinds of dragons, monsters and other types of different characters).<br />

There are battles which let you play with players from around the world and there are those which lets you battle the cpu in a game called Solo Adventures and is divided into different wings. The latest Adventure I have purchased in Hearthstone is Blackrock Mountain. In this Adventure, you have to defeat Nefarian in order to finish the game in which I did.<br />

We search for hotels, gadgets, news and many others on the web. Right now, Google search engine is the main search engine most of us use when we search the web. And because of this, Microsoft realized that they need to build a search engine in order to be more competitive. And so, Bing was born.<br /><br />Bing will be released on June 3 and is expected to have a wide acceptance from computer users because of Microsoft's advertising campaigns. Bing's eye candy pictures on its home page looks very nice as well as the cool buttons and widgets displayed in Bing's search results.<br /><br /><object width="480" height="295"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/4w4W7fQHgYw&hl=ja&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/4w4W7fQHgYw&hl=ja&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="295"></embed></object><br /><br />Microsoft's Bing has the potential to gain market share in search. But the real test is whether those users will stay for the long term. Will we get better results as expected? Only time will tell. Maybe because of these search engine wars, we will eventually build the "Perfect Search Engine" in the future.dombrihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14219206591476722991noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7060375010687772911.post-79630717847405569572009-05-28T08:27:00.000-07:002009-05-28T08:30:13.525-07:00Learn to count in Japanese<div><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" "><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">In learning new languages, it would be beneficial if you learn to count first. During my experinece learning the Japanese language, learning how to count came last in my list. This proved to be detrimental to my everyday life here in Japan. When you buy in the market you need to count, when you talk with your officemates you need to count, you use them most of the time. So I tell you this, study Japanese counting earlier during your study of the Japanese language. </span></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">Here's a video a child counting in Japanese:</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial; white-space: pre; "><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"><object width="320" height="265"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/EY3Eyg9kKEE&hl=ja&fs=1&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/EY3Eyg9kKEE&hl=ja&fs=1&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="320" height="265"></embed></object></span></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">MINI-DICTIONARY (romaji, kanji, kana)</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">one (ichi, 一, いち) </span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">two (ni, 二, に) </span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">three (san, 三, さん)</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">four (yon, 四, よん)</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">five (go, 五, ご)</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">six (roku, 六,)</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">seven (nana, 七, なな)</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">eight (hachi, 八, はち)</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">nine (kyuu, 九, きゅう)</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">ten (juu, 十, じゅう)</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">eleven (juu-ichi, 十一, じゅういち)</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">twelve (juu-ni, 十二, じゅうに)</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">thirteen (juu-san, 十三, じゅうさん)</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">fourteen (juu-yon, 十四, じゅうよん)</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">fifteen (juu-go, 十五, じゅうご)</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">sixteen (juu-roku, 十六, じゅうろく)</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">seventeen (juu-nana, 十七, じゅうなな)</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">eighteen (juu-hachi, 十八, じゅうはち)</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">nineteen (juu-kyuu, 十九, じゅうきゅう)</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">twenty (ni-juu, 二十, にじゅう)</span></div><div><br /></div>dombrihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14219206591476722991noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7060375010687772911.post-34691720972177336262009-05-27T07:39:00.000-07:002009-05-27T07:49:03.564-07:00Let's learn Japanese<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">* Watching a video is a very great way to easily learn Japanese. I have provided a mini-dictionary for the translations of some of the words in the video. This video is about using rice flour as wheat flour replacement.</span><div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" white-space: pre; font-family:Arial;"><object width="480" height="295"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/nwcyvQ6MpRU&hl=ja&fs=1&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/nwcyvQ6MpRU&hl=ja&fs=1&color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="295"></embed></object></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;"><br /></span><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;"><br /></span></div><div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;">Translation:</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries informed that because the rice consumption of the Japanese people is decreasing, a new initiative to use powdered rice (rice flour) at home is started. Rice flour contains more starch than wheat flour and thus smoother, moreover, rice absorbs more water resulting into a soft food texture. Because of this, new food texture for pans and cakes can be made. In addtion, it can also be used as a thickenning for curry and stew. </span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">This approach leads to improvements in the rate of self-sufficiency in rice flour to replace the product was made in the flour, this is until Friday, 29th.<br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;">Original:</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">農林水産省では日本人の米の消費量が年々減少していることから、米を粉末にした米粉(こめこ)を家庭で活用してもらおうと新たな取り組みを始めています。 </span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;">DICTIONARY:</span></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;"><dictionary></dictionary></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:10px;"><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">米粉 (komeko, こめこ) - I'll teach you basic Japanese you'll be using everyday when working in Japan.</div><div><br /></div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;">Good Morning / Magandang Umaga Po</span><div><ul><li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;">"Ohayogozaimas"</span></span> - You'll use this in the morning when you go to office. Greet everyone you see, guards, officemates, bosses even persons whom you didn't know personally. You'll be surprised that they will respond like you've known each other for a while.<br /></li></ul></div><div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">* "Ohayo" is equivalent to good morning but is less polite and is mostly used by bosses in the office. It's like saying "Good Morning! / Magandang Umaga!", so you'll be safe using "Ohayogozaimas".</span><br /><div><div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;">Hi!Hello! / Kamusta!</span></div><div><ul><li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;">"Konichiwa"</span></span> - Most general greeting you'll be using. This greeting has a time frame and starts at about 10:00AM upto about 4:00PM in the afternoon. You can also use this when you meet someone you know while in the market, mall, parks, etc..<br /></li></ul></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;">Good Evening / Magandang Gabi</span></div><div><ul><li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;">"Konbanwa"</span></span> - Since you won't be greeting most of your officemates in the office at night, you'll generally use this when meeting someone you know while going home. You'll mostly hear this word when you go to restaurants, bars, ramen shops, etc.. at night.<br /></li></ul></div><div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;">Sorry i'll go ahead / Pasencia Mauna na po ako</span></div><div><ul><li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;">"Osaki ni Shitsurei Shimas"</span></span> - You'll use this before you go home. This is very important because it's rude when you leave the office without saying that you're going home. Most of your officemates will stay in office longer than you'll thought. So be prepared.<br /></li></ul></div><div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">* less polite form is "Osaki ni", it's shorter but it's like saying "I'll leave / Alis na ko".</span></div><div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;">I'm sorry / Paumanhin po.</span></div><div><ul><li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;">"Gomenasai"</span></span> - If you do a lot of mistakes, be sure that you remember this word. Saying this word will ease penalties. But don't be complacent, in a Japanese company, you are expected not to make mistakes. Or practically, you should make less mistakes. It's very different from what you'd expect. Trust me.<br /></li></ul></div><div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;">* The most commonly used word for sorry is "sumimasen" you'll be hearing this word most of time. "Gomenazai" has more politeness level than "sumimasen".</span></div><div><br /></div><div>Are you also skilled in Japanese? You may share it in comments area. </div><div><br /></div><div>* For reference, actual romaji/hiragana is as follows:</div><div>1. Vicky Belo<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;">Who did it? Who uploaded various videos on YouTube?</span></span><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">* I'm actually into technical stuff but hey, 'money' is in entertainment.</span></div><div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">In recent news, most people in the Philippines talk about the Katrina Halili scandal videos uploaded in YouTube and stored in our celphones via bluetooth.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">I really liked playing detective, so here's my view of who might have uploaded the videos.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">From our possible suspects, we have 4:</span></div><div><ol><li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">Katrina Halili</span></li><li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">Hayden Kho</span></li><li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">Kho's Friend<br /></span></li><li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">Dra. Vicky Belo</span></li></ol><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">1. </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">Katrina Halili </span></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">- She may have uploaded the videos for publicity (joke!) . Since 70% of women don't upload scandalous videos publicly, we remove her as our suspect.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">2. </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">Hayden Kho </span></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">- He was the most clever of our suspects. So, thinking of vindication, he may have uploaded the videos. Therfore, we include him as our suspect.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">3. </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">Kho's Friend</span></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"> - He may have access to the video but since he's a friend of Hayden Kho and assuming that Kho is the most clever of our suspects, we remove him as our suspect.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">4. </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">Dra. Vicky Belo</span></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"> - She's got the money. She needed revenge. Belo, seeking revenge, asked Hayden Kho to upload the videos and if he does so, Dra. Belo would forget what happened between Kho and Halili.</span></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">What do you think? Can you draw your own conclusions? </span></div><div><br /></div></div>dombrihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14219206591476722991noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7060375010687772911.post-27672537209659026852007-09-19T05:10:00.000-07:002008-12-09T14:59:52.013-08:00Programming what$%?!<span style="font-family:lucida grande;">I'll be posting a short introduction about computer programming. I have chosen this topic because I have spent about 6 years of my life learning about this stuff. </span><br /><span style="font-family:lucida grande;"></span><br /><span style="font-family:lucida grande;">I know some of you are not that technically inclined. But don't worry, I'll try to make this entertaining. As I will be using some metaphor to make complicated things simple. </span><br /><span style="font-family:lucida grande;"></span><br /><span style="font-family:lucida grande;"><strong>So how important is programming anyway?</strong> </span><br /><span style="font-family:lucida grande;">Like many professions in the Philippines (call center agents, nurses etc.), programming (software development, as it's usually called) has made many Filipinos very successful. Just visit Singapore and you'll see what I'm telling you. </span><br /><br /><span style="font-family:times new roman;">* Many companies are also encouraging schools to invest more in computer science. So I think, in the future, more and more programming careers will be created.<br /></span><span style="font-family:lucida grande;"></span><br /><span style="font-family:lucida grande;">But all their success starts with these two words: "Hello, World!". "Hello, World!" is usually the first program every programmer makes. </span><br /><span style="font-family:lucida grande;"></span><br /><span style="font-family:lucida grande;"><strong>What does "Hello, World!" look like?</strong> </span><br /><span style="font-family:lucida grande;">A "Hello, World!" program has many forms. As an example, the program below was created using language called "Visual Basic for Applications". The program prints "Hello World" when you run Microsoft Word.</span><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPS31TNYjWn8frOyf_QzzsDWTwqDv8WUKY08qG23UbHyI88lLR-GrTyy2CsRAXeGqzL5qaJi30Cpyy6EHgzNx7SpsM2yFtLklhZV-BJBL18DARJX-M57UAt1vDJZhO3PDwwXsezlF6L4J2/s1600-h/hello.JPG"><span style="font-family:verdana;"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5111915212332362690" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPS31TNYjWn8frOyf_QzzsDWTwqDv8WUKY08qG23UbHyI88lLR-GrTyy2CsRAXeGqzL5qaJi30Cpyy6EHgzNx7SpsM2yFtLklhZV-BJBL18DARJX-M57UAt1vDJZhO3PDwwXsezlF6L4J2/s320/hello.JPG" border="0" /></span></a><span style="font-family:verdana;"> </span><strong>Visual Basic what$%'#!?</strong><br />As with any communication, you need a language (Filipino, Nihongo, English) to be able to tell what you want. For me, programming is just another form of communication. So please remember this: "Programming is just telling your computer what you want it to do". And in communicating with your computer, there are tremendously many languages available.<br /><br /><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;color:#660000;">For example (In Japanese, TATOEBA[例えば]):</span><br /><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;color:#660000;">- If you want to talk with with your Internet browser: use HTML (and many others CSS/Javascript etc.)</span><br /><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;color:#660000;">- If you want to talk with your computer screen, you could use Java, Visual Basic etc..</span><br /><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;color:#660000;">- If you want to talk with your low level hardware (e.g., video cards, network cards), you could use assembly language, C/C++, etc..</span><br /><br /><strong>Why too many languages? Which one should I choose?</strong><br />Although this is a personal preference, for start ups, I should say C/C++. As with my example above, each language has it's own strengths and weaknesses. C/C++, although known before as very hard to learn, is now staple because of the many information available on the Internet.<br /><br /><strong>What are the requirements?</strong><br />To be able to create a program, you must first have a COMPUTER!<br /><br /><strong>I already have a computer, you #$%?!</strong><br />You must have 3 software development (programming) tools.<br />1. Text Editor - (where you create your program)<br />2. Compiler - (creates an object file from your program)<br />3. Linker - (links all your needed resources)<br /><br />But don't worry. Most of the programming tools you'll be using has all of these three.<br /><br /><strong>So how does it go?</strong><br />Basically, programming goes like this.<br /><br />1. You write a code based on the language you've chosen:<br />An example using Tagalog-C (Hypothetical language based on C language):<br /><br /><span style="font-family:courier new;font-size:85%;">---------------------------------------------</span><br /><span style="font-family:courier new;font-size:85%;">#iinclude mga_kailangan_kong_code;</span><br /><span style="font-family:courier new;font-size:85%;"></span><br /><span style="font-family:courier new;font-size:85%;">start_ng_program_ko() {</span><br /><span style="font-family:courier new;font-size:85%;"></span><br /><span style="font-family:courier new;font-size:85%;">mag_print_sa_monitor_ng("Hello World");</span><br /><span style="font-family:courier new;font-size:85%;"></span><br /><span style="font-family:courier new;font-size:85%;">}</span><br /><span style="font-family:courier new;font-size:85%;">---------------------------------------------</span><br /><span style="font-family:Courier New;font-size:85%;"></span><br />2. Run your compiler.<br />- The compiler is a program that converts your code into a language that your COMPUTER understands.<br />- After compiling your program becomes a binary file. Meaning, "you can't read it! It is intended for your COMPUTER!".<br />Example the program above after compiling is shown below in binary format:<br /><br />0100010101001010101010101010010100101111110010101001010101001<br />10101010101111010010101010101101011010111110101010010101001010<br /><br />* Can you read it? I'll give you a ¥100,000 if you could read it. :)<br /><br />3. Run your Linker.<br />- Actually, Compiler/Linker are usually done in tandem. They are never separated. When you run your compiler, the linker automatically runs next.<br />- We need the linker because we usually use codes that other people had already created.<br />- Linker, links other source codes (mga_kailangan_kong_code) and the binary file you have created.<br /><br /><strong>And then?</strong><br />There you have it. You now have your "Hello, World!" (hello.exe) program. You just have to double click it like any other application (word, excel, dota, YM etc..) and it will display "Hello, World!" in your screen.<br /><br />* Just remember, in order to communicate with your computer, you must create a program from any computer language (Java, C/C++, Perl, etc..) and convert it to the language your computer understands (MACHINE LANGUAGE, 101001001001 ).
